Authorities are seeking tips from the public to help them find two suspects responsible for stealing nearly $15,000 worth of jewelry and collectibles in Ramona.
At around 4 p.m. Feb. 23, burglars broke into a home on the property of Hatfield Creek Vineyards and Winery in the 1600 block of State Route 78, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspects, described as two heavy-set, possibly Hispanic, men, stole an unspecified number of items, including bracelets, earrings and collectible coins.
Sheriff’s deputies from the Ramona Sheriff’s Substation later received reports from two nearby wineries about suspicious persons seen on their properties the same day, from 3:45 to 5 p.m.
An investigation revealed no thefts took place at those wineries, but as a precaution, deputies have been assigned to extra patrols at wineries in the Ramona area.
Anyone with information about the home burglary or the stolen items is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200 or the San Diego County Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case. Tips also may be offered online.
