AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department (APD) said it recently made multiple arrests related to burglary of vehicle incidents in the city.
According to the department, the following people were arrested related to burglaries that occurred between Feb. 13 and Feb. 26.
APD hosted a conference Wednesday to provide an overview of its enforcement response to the ongoing vehicle burglaries occurring at Austin parks.
The department said as a result of the operation, 12 arrests were made for offenses varying from engaging in organized criminal activity, failure to identify, request to apprehend, burglary of a vehicle, and driving without a license.
Police were also able to recover stolen property, including bank cards, purses, wallets and other items.
Items seized during arrests (APD photos)APD said that over the past four weeks, multiple city, county and law enforcement units and divisions in Austin and Travis County worked on the operation to target known offenders to reduce the number of incidents.
