Officers responded to the Handlery Hotel at 950 Hotel Circle North around 8:20 p.m. Monday to reports regarding shots fired, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Further investigation revealed to the officers that a 19-year-old Hispanic man had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. Police stated that he was pronounced dead at the scene and located in an interior hallway.
The man’s name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
A second victim, identified as a 23-year-old Hispanic man, had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body.
According to police, the injury was believed to be non-life-threatening and the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
