The Lancet attack purportedly place in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region
A video published online on Tuesday reportedly shows a Ukrainian tank burning out from the inside after a Russian kamikaze drone strike.
The clip was released by a Telegram channel associated with the Russian ‘North’ task force involved in the Ukraine conflict.
The footage shows what appears to be a tank under camouflage covers hidden among trees in a snowy landscape. The area is hit by an explosion, resulting in the destruction of the armored vehicle.
According to the description, Russian troops used a Lancet loitering munition to hit the tank, most likely an older Soviet model, near the village of Velikiye Prokhody in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region, some 10km from the Russian border. This part of the front line is the area of responsibility of the North grouping of Russian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry’s Monday update mentioned fighting near the border city of Volchansk in Kharkov Region, around 45km east from Velikiye Prokhody.
