Light rain was in the air for San Diego County on Sunday, along with cooler temperatures and the likelihood of more showers by mid-week, the National Weather Service’s San Diego office said.
“For rainfall totals, there is a 35-70% chance of at least 0.10″ and a 10-45% chance of at least 0.25″ for the coasts and valleys, highest in San Diego County,” the NWS said in a discussion.
“For the mountains, there is a 65-80% chance of at least 0.25″ and a 25-60% chance of at least 0.50″, highest on the coastal slopes of the San Bernardino Mountains.”
Monday morning could bring light snow to parts of the I-8 through mountainous regions. Some gusty winds are also expected.
Another chance of showers for the county will start Wednesday night into Thursday, with possibly more rain toward the week’s end.
Sunday and Monday will be fairly cool, with temperatures in the upper 50s for the coast and valleys, 30s in the mountains and the mid-60s for the deserts.
The weather will warm up a bit Tuesday and Wednesday throughout Southern California, but will drop again by Thursday, with highs in the upper 50s around downtown San Diego.
