COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- After months of planning and years of anticipation, the big day has finally arrived. The Blue Jackets host the Red Wings in the first ever outdoor NHL hockey game to take place at Ohio Stadium.
Over 90,000 fans are expected for this latest installment of the Stadium Series. Expect plenty of pomp and circumstance leading up to puck drop with the pregame festivities set to get underway at approximately 6 p.m. And as part of the tributes to the Gaudreau brothers, Johnny's widow, Meredith Gaudreau, will walk the Blue Jackets out from the Ohio State locker room to the rink.
"We became really, really close with some tragedy that happened, and I think that's helped us on the ice," Blue Jackets center Adam Fantilli said. "And I think we've continued to believe in ourselves, believe in each other, and believe in what we have in our locker room. And I think it's helped us so much this season."
