The North Coastal Sheriff’s Station is seeking the public’s help to find the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Encinitas last month.
Just before 7 p.m. Jan. 19, deputies responded to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian in the 900 block of North Coast Highway 101. The 66-year-old woman who was struck died at the hospital.
An investigation by Sheriff’s Traffic Deputies found the suspect stopped briefly before fleeing the scene in a 2019-2023 gray Audi Q3.
The car may have damage to the lower left area of the front grille or be missing parts from the grille.
Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office at (858) 868-3200 or remain anonymous by calling San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
