A SOUTHWEST jet and a private plane have narrowly avoided a collision on the runway after a month of air disasters.
The two aircraft had a close call at the Chicago Midway Airport on Tuesday afternoon.
Footage from the airport showed the moment the two planes came near each other as the Southwest plane prepared to land.
As the blue passenger plane flew toward the runway, the private plane slowly moved across its travel path.
At the last minute, the Southwest jet flew back up into the sky.
Air traffic control audio captured the pilot’s reaction to the close call.
“How’d that happen?” the pilot gasped.
