BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Burke County officials are asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing man.
The sheriff's office received a report that 60-year-old Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Phillips was missing on Feb. 22. The reporting party stated that Phillips was last seen at his residence on Berea Church Road in Connelly Springs on Feb. 20 around 4 p.m.
Phillips is described as a 5'8" tall man with short brown hair, a grey "goatee" style beard and brown eyes. Phillips was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt and a black sling on his left arm.
The sheriff's office requested the assistance of Burke County Emergency Management along with Burke County Rescue and Icard Township Fire & Rescue for several area searches that were conducted from Feb. 22 through 23.
Officials say there was no sign of Phillips during the searches and his whereabouts remain unknown at this time.
