Paris Hilton is matching all donations to Pasadena Humane Society up to $50,000 through Sunday in honor of her birthday this month as the shelter continues to deal with pets displaced by January’s Eaton Fire, officials said this weekend.
The 44-year-old hotel heiress, businesswoman and media personality is a longtime animal lover who used her online influence to help reunite Dopey, a cat found in Altadena shortly after the fire broke out, with her owner.
She has also donated essential items from her own pet brand, brought food and coffee to shelter staff, and even opened her home to a foster dog named Zuzu, according to Pasadena Humane Society officials.
“We are so grateful to Paris for using her platform to help animals in need. Over 1,000 animals have poured through our doors since the Eaton Fire, and although the fire is contained, we are still feeling its effects,” the organization posted on Facebook. “Thanks to Paris, your gift today will make double the impact for animals who were affected by the Eaton Fire and others like them.”
