The trio will join icons such as the likes of Martin Luther King Jr and Aretha Franklin.

Trump made the announcement at a White House event to celebrate Black History Month.

He said: “It’s going to be unbelievable.

“We’ll honor hundreds of our greatest Americans to ever live – including countless black Americans.”

The revelation that late NBA star Bryant would be honored received a rousing reception.

Trump also added special praise for baseball legend Robinson.

Trump declared: “What a great athlete that was.”

The president also cracked a joke with golf star Tiger Woods, who was present at the ceremony.

He then asked: “What do you think?”

To which Woods replied: “Not bad.”

Bryant was considered one of the best basketball players of all time before he tragically died in January 2020.

In 2024, the LA Lakers unveiled a statue of the star and his late daughter, Gigi, outside of the Crypto.com Arena.

Ali is one of the most iconic figures in boxing history and passed away in 2016.

He was widely known by the epithet “the Greatest” and was the world heavyweight champion.

Robinson was the first African American to play in the MLB in the modern era.

Trump added: “The garden will predominantly feature incredible women like Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and Coretta Scott-King.

“It will be something very extraordinary.

“We’re going to produce some of the most beautiful works of art in the form of statues for men like Frederick Douglas, Booker T Washington…(and) Martin Luther King Jr.”
