You need to have completed a nurse practitioner program recognized by the provincial/territorial regulatory authority with an NP-Adult or NP-PHC specialty certificate.
You must be eligible to be registered as a nurse practitioner — NP, RN (EC), RN (NP), or RN (EP) — in a province or territory of Canada and have no current license suspensions/restrictions with any professional regulatory organizations.
You also need:
experience as a nurse practitioner in a community or clinical setting experience in ambulatory care, acute care or community health care experience in adult education and health promotion experience in accessing professional literature to provide current evidence-based careKnowledge of assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing a range of acute and chronic medical conditions as a nurse practitioner is required as well.
