(KRON) -- The Vallejo Police Department said it is investigating its second homicide of 2025 after a woman died in a late-night Friday shooting.
41-year-old Valentine’s Day Hayward cold case reopensVallejo PD said officers responded at 11:57 p.m. to the 400 block of Sheldon Avenue for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the location, they found a woman suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite the life-saving efforts of medics, the victim succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office.
