Greeley cop log: Caller reports group climbing bird shelter on frozen lake; Nursing home resident throws cup of water on other resident

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a summary of crime reports taken from the Greeley Police Department’s daily logs. Only a few of the hundreds of reports will be used in this weekly column because of space limitations.

Jan. 23

8:00 a.m.: A 15-year-old at the Greeley Police Department had questions for officers about what would happen if he “put hands” on his stepfather.

    Jan. 24

    7:45 a.m.: A caller at an unknown address had a question about what would happen if they had committed a crime and lied to officers about it.

    8:00 a.m.: A caller at a coffee shop in the 800 block of 8th Avenue reported a man overheard an employee give the bathroom code to someone and had since been in there for a long time.

    12:45 p.m.: A caller at Colorado Highway 257 and Weld County Road 54 reported driving southbound when something came out of a dump truck that shattered her driver’s side window.

    2:45 p.m.: A caller at a nursing home in the 1600 block of 29th Avenue Place reported one resident threw a water cup on another resident.

    6:45 p.m.: A caller at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of 31st Street Road reported someone put a pile of snow in front of her door.

    9:00 p.m.: A caller at a self-storage facility in the 8300 block of 20th Street reported she got into an argument with her boyfriend. He changed the gate code when he left, locking her inside.

    Jan. 25

    6:00 a.m.: A caller at a convenience store in the 100 block of East 18th Street reported two men — one dressed in an orange hat and a trash bag — were standing outside and refusing to leave.

    4:00 p.m.: A man at the Greeley Police Department reported his 18-year-old daughter had been buying alcohol from a liquor store after giving the clerk her phone number. The man said the employee had done this with several underage girls, but he could not tell police which liquor store.

    8:45 p.m.: A caller in the 2000 block of 1st Street reported a neighbor’s kitchen light kept turning on and off. The caller was concerned since there were no cars in the driveway.

    Jan. 26

    5:30 a.m.: A caller in a snowplow outside the Greeley Police Department asked to be let into the back lot to clear the snow.

    2:45 p.m.: A caller at a park in the 1600 block of Glenmere Boulevard reported a group of people on the ice were climbing on the bird shelter in the middle of the lake.

    10:00 p.m.: A caller at an auto repair shop in the 2100 block of 9th Street reported he saw someone walk onto the lot through security cameras, but he didn’t see anyone leave. The man was on-site and said nobody was there and no damage had been done.

    Jan. 27

    1:45 p.m.: A caller in the 1100 block of 16th Street reported a man holding a stick climbed into her backyard and tried to come in her house, claiming someone was chasing him.

    3:30 p.m.: A man at the Greeley Police Department reported his ex got his W-2 in the mail and was refusing to give it to him.
