POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON: Caller at the corner of Bush Street and Cypress Avenue reported at 4:39 a.m. Feb. 6 that someone “with a baseball bat or pipe was banging it on the ground.” An officer responded and the person was counseled.

    TWO DOGS RUNNING LOOSE: Caller in the 800 block of South Orchard Avenue reported at 7:35 a.m. Feb. 6 that “two tan huskies were running loose.” An officer checked the area but the dogs were gone.

    CHASED BY DOG: Caller in the 700 block of South Oak Street reported at 9:19 a.m. Feb. 6 being chased by a neighbor’s dog. An officer responded and reported that the dog had been secured and the owner counseled.

    GUEST WON’T CHECK OUT: Caller at a hotel in the 1200 block of South State Street reported at 1:17 p.m. Feb. 6 that a guest was refusing to check out of their room. An officer responded and arrested a 39-year-old Louisiana man for violating his probation and being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was cited and released.

    HOUSE EGGED: Caller in the 300 block of Plum Drive reported at 5:20 p.m. Feb. 6 that “multiple juveniles just egged their house.” The caller was contacted but no prosecution was desired.

    TRAFFIC STOP: An officer stopped a vehicle at the corner of Hastings Frontage and Talmage roads at 10:15 p.m. Feb. 6 and arrested a 35-year-old Ukiah man for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and for violating his probation. He was cited and released.

    ASSAULT: Caller in the 500 block of East Perkins Street reported at 4:55 a.m. Feb. 7 that an assault had occurred. An officer responded and reported that no prosecution was desired. At 5:03 a.m., a call for service was made regarding a victim of a gunshot at the same location. The call was referred to the California Highway Patrol. At 8:31 a.m., a caller requested an officer call them regarding reporting an assault from earlier that morning. The officer reported that no one answered and he left a message.

    WOMAN SCREAMING: Caller in the 1100 block of South State Street reported at 9:05 a.m. Feb. 8 that a woman “in the street was screaming and yelling.” An officer responded and reported that the woman was gone, and took a report of found property.

    CAMPING: Caller in the 1000 block of South State Street reported at 9:33 a.m. Feb. 8 that multiple people were camping on the property. An officer responded and the group was “counseled and moving along.”

    CAMPING: An officer contacted a suspicious person in the 300 block of South State Street at 9:45 p.m. Feb. 8 and arrested a 53-year-old Ukiah man on suspicion of illegal camping and violating his parole. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the corner of West Church and South State streets at 2:13 a.m. Feb. 9 and arrested Luis Hernandez-Barrera, 23, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.

    TRESPASS: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 9 that an “unwanted person was riding a scooter” in the area. An officer responded and reported that the person “rode away upon request.”

    The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of Madrone Street at 10:12 p.m. Feb. 7 and arrested Carlos Aldana Cisneros, 43, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of driving under the influence and without a license. He was cited and released.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of North Main Street at 2:35 a.m. Feb. 8 and arrested Jonah Buehler, 49, of Ohio, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of South Main Street at 11:18 p.m. Feb. 8 and arrested Monica Lam, 37, of San Francisco, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of South Main Street at 1:39 a.m. Feb. 9 and arrested Leila Orneals, 34, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was cited and released and the vehicle stored.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
