India vs England Third ODI LIVE commentary: Lines-ups, confirmed toss, scorecard and how to follow as Buttler’s men look to avoid whitewash

England will be desperate to avoid a whitewash in their ODI series against India live on talkSPORT 2.

Following a 4-1 loss in the recent T20 series, Brendon McCullum’s first series as ODI boss hasn’t gone to plan, with the visitors trailing 2-0 heading into the final match.

Jos Buttler’s side were comfortably beaten in the opener in Nagpur before setting a competitive total of 304 in the second game.

However, an excellent opening stand of 136 between Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma set up the hosts to make light work of the chase.

Sharma scored 119 from just 90 balls, which allowed the rest of the order to cruise to the finish inside 45 overs.

All that is left for England to fight for now is pride and to get McCullum’s first ODI win as coach.

Despite another disappointing defeat, Buttler believes that England are making some progress.

Speaking at the post-match press conference after the second game, he said: “I thought we started really well.

“I thought [Ben] Duckett and [Phil] Salt played the powerplay brilliantly. – we just needed one or two of us to kick on and make a real innings of note and push our score up to 330 or 350.

“But we are making steps in the right direction, but it wasn’t the perfect performance, and then, credit to Rohit Sharma.

    “He played a fantastic knock.”
