Ludacris wants fans to know that the members of the Fast & Furious cast really are a family.
The rapper-actor, 47, appears alongside his Fast costars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez in a new Super Bowl ad with Häagen-Dazs, but the spot isn’t a reunion for the celebrity trio. Ludacris told Us Weekly exclusively that the Fast franchise cast, who are slowing down in Häagen-Dazs’ Super Bowl ad debut, already spend plenty of off-time together.
“We don’t throw around that word family loosely,” the actor dished. “We say it all the time, but we really mean it. What I mean by that is …if you think of any other movie franchise, I can guarantee you — for the most part — that when people yell ‘cut’ and they leave from shooting the movie, they’re not still spending holidays together. It’s like the best thing ever. It’s always great to reunite, but I just saw both of them not too long ago, so we don’t have to be shooting anything for us to be reuniting.”
Fans may be hoping to see the actors on screen once again in the upcoming Fast X sequel, known by the fandom as Fast 11, but Ludacris isn’t able to share much yet.
Everything the 'Fast and the Furious' Cast Has Said About the Franchise Ending
“The only reason I’m not able to talk about 11 is because we don’t even have any details yet about anything,” he said. “I wish I could share, but I do know that the [25th] anniversary is coming up of the very first one [2001’s The Fast and the Furious]. There’s rumors of there being one more installment, so we shall see.”

I feel like they live vicariously through these characters in many ways.”
One of the ways Ludacris keeps his Fast connection strong is through his kids. The actor revealed that his daughter, Cadence, 9, and Diesel’s youngest daughter, Pauline, 9, have been “best friends forever.”

“Even though we live in different cities most of the time, it’s like we constantly connect,” said about the close relationship between the Bridges and Diesel families. The Fast X actor also gushed about Rodriguez, 46, with whom he shares much in common.
“In terms of being a thrill seeker and an adrenaline junkie and constantly having a thirst for life — I feel like her and I are similar in that regard,” Ludacris said. “She loves to travel to different places. You’ll catch her in the middle of Arizona, shooting on a gun range, bungee jumping. She’s the most extreme when it comes to people in the franchise and I love it.”
