THE Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly moving on from quarterback Russell Wilson.
Ten-time Pro Bowler Wilson, 36, only made the move to Pennsylvania last year.
Wilson made his name with the Seattle Seahawks and won a Super Bowl ring in 2013.
The 36-year-old made a big-money move to the Denver Broncos in 2022 but endured two miserable seasons in Colorado.
He made the switch to Pittsburgh last summer, playing 11 games for the Steelers this season.
Wilson helped Pittsburgh reach the postseason, but the organization crashed out of Lombardi contention in the Wildcard round.
Speculation has been rife that the team are ready to move on from Wilson, who is a free agent this summer.
NFL insider Jay Glazer discussed Wilson’s future during an appearance on NBC’s Radio Row on Thursday.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Glazer said, when asked if Wilson would return for another season in Pittsburgh.
“I think we’ll see a new start for Russell somewhere else.”
Wilson took to social media to post a cryptic eight-word message later in the day.
“Jesus, I thank You for a new day!” he wrote on X.
Fans were quick to respond to the message, picking up on the use of “new day.”
“Good luck in free agency Russ!” one wrote in response.
“I pray to Jesus every night that you’ll comeback to Seattle,” said another.
“Russ is on the market,” predicted a third.
Wilson’s replacement in Pittsburgh remains uncertain, with backup Justin Fields also set to hit free agency.

The Steelers could reportedly be targeting Matthew Stafford, who looks set to move away from the Los Angeles Rams.
While Glazer was quick to shut down any talk of Wilson reuniting with his old Seattle coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas.
Carroll recently was appointed head coach of the Raiders in Sin City.
“That ain’t going to happen,” Fox insider Glazer said.
Last month, Steelers owner Art Rooney II admitted it was unlikely the team signed both Wilson and Fields.
“I think both of them see themselves as starters,” Rooney said, via ESPN.
“I don’t know that they want to share the same job again next year.
“So, I would say most likely we probably don’t wind up bringing them both back.”
