Universal Music Group Chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge lauded this year’s recipient of the gala’s Industry Icon award, Universal Music Publishing Group chairman/CEO Jody Gerson, who ended her own speech with a full-circle message: “Music can brighten even our darkest days,” she said, “and we surely need artists to bring light into the world now more than ever.”
