NISSAN has brought back a special feature for the Sentra after a one-year hiatus.
Drivers will be pleased to hear the Japanese carmaker’s Midnight Edition has now become available for its second-bestselling vehicle.
The darkened exterior trim was only offered on the Murano and Armada SUVs as well as the Titan pickup truck as of January this year.
But now, the four-door Sentra has also become available in the sleek design that comes with a range of advanced tech features that are typically found on the top-spec SR model of Sentra.
Nissan’s new motor comes with black paint on the grille, side sills and spoiler as well as on its 18-inch wheels.
It is available for purchase in either monochrome black or a combination of either blue, white or dark grey with a black roof.
The regular SR on the other hand only comes in six solid colors and four two-tone schemes.
However, the Midnight Edition Sentra shares most of its inner technology with the top of the range SR, including a full suite of standard safety tech, LED headlights, and heated front seats.
The car also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen that’s equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
You can also get the SR’s Premium Package with the new design, which adds in a 360-degree camera system, a moonroof, and synthetic leather upholstery which has red-orange contrast stitching.
On top of that, the luxury package would add in a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, and an eight-speaker Bose sound system.
The 2025 Midnight Edition Sentra is on sale now for the very reasonable price of $26,425, which includes the $1,140 destination fee.
That means the new edition costs just $695 more than the top-spec Sentra SR.
This comes after Nissan announced in January its popular Titan trim had been discontinued.
The Nissan Titan was first introduced in December 2003 to compete with General Motors, Ram, and Ford‘s dominant pickup status in the United States.
The full-size pickup, equipped with a V-8 engine, came in four trims, its two-door Regular Cab, the King Cab with four doors that could seat up to six people, and the fully loaded Crew Cab.
However, after two decades on the market, Nissan pulled the plug on its popular pickup due to low sales.
Titan’s sales have been slow since its debut and never hit Nissan’s annual sales target of 100,000 units, according to CarsDirect.
Nissan drivers shocked after recall on 84k vehicles with airbags that could explode and shoot ‘sharp metal fragments’
NISSAN and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued an urgent recall to nearly 84,000 drivers of older vehicles back in May 2024.
The “Do Not Drive” warning came due to certain older models posing a serious risk of injury or even death.
Although the carmaker fixed nearly 750,000 vehicles years ago, 84,000 went unrepaired.
“Even minor crashes can result in exploding Takata airbags that can kill or produce life-altering, gruesome injuries,” wrote the NHSTA in a statement, quoted by ABC News.
“Older model year vehicles put their occupants at higher risk, as the age of the airbag is one of the contributing factors.”
With certain vehicles ranging from 2002 to 2006, the issue was the standard Takata airbag, which had injured nearly 60 drivers since 2015.
Almost 30 drivers were killed in the US as a result of the faulty airbags.
The NHSTA reported that a total of 35 drivers were killed worldwide.
The airbag had been reported to improperly inflate and dispel shrapnel in the faces of drivers and their passengers, prompting the urgent recall.
The recall applied to Sentra vehicles from 2002 to 2006, as well as some 2002 through 2004 Pathfinder SUVs.
The Japanese auto producer sold only 19,189 Titans in 2023 – less than 3% of the volume of F-Series pickups that Ford sold in the US in the same period.
Nissan eliminated the Titan in Canada at the end of 2021, and has now done the same in the United States.
Several fans of the Titan reacted to the disappointing news of the beloved pickups disappearing from showrooms.
“The Titan is kind of disappointing news,” an X user commented on a thread about 17 cars and trucks that are being discontinued in 2025.
“But the sales were tanking. Was surprised when I looked because I’ve seen a bunch in my area after the 2020 refresh.
“It seemed to be gaining popularity.”
A second said, “Noooooo! But we already knew this was coming. Sad day.”
“First vehicle I ever bought on my own, about 13 years ago – loved that truck,” another user said, adding a crying face emoji to his post.
