The tournament is from Feb. 6-8 at Kelowna Secondary School
One of the biggest high school basketball tournaments of the season is set to tip off in Kelowna.
From Feb. 6-8, the 50th annual Western Canada Basketball tournament will be taking place at Kelowna Secondary School. It will feature eight of the top high school boys basketball programs across three provinces:
British Columbia– Kelowna Owls – fifth-ranked in province;
– Semiahmoo Thunderbirds – eighth-ranked in province;
– Oak Bay Bays – third-ranked in province;
– Spectrum Thunder – first ranked in province.
Alberta
– Ross Sheppard Thunderbirds – honourable mention;
– All Saints Legends – ninth in province.
Manitoba
– St. Paul’s Crusaders – first in province;
– Vincent Massey Trojans – third in province.
Between the third and fourth games on Thursday, there will be a three-point contest. At the same time on Friday, there will be a slam dunk contest.
All eight teams tip off on Thursday and the championship game takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
Tickets are available at the door. For students, a day pass is $5 and a tournament pass is $10. For adults, a day pass is $10 and a tournament pass is $25. There is also a tournament pass court-side seat option available for $100.
