Bhubaneswar: The organisational elections of the Biju Janata Dal will be completed before the Odia New Year.

On the directions of BJD President Naveen Patnaik, the Coordination Committee met under the chairmanship of Devi Mishra. Other committees were also present in the meeting.

    As many as13 members of the Coordination Committee were present in the meeting and other members attended the meeting through virtual mode.

    Discussions were held regarding the conduct organisational elections of the party.

    Senior party leader Pratap Keshari Deb, who has been appointed as returning officer for the elections, presented all information for smooth conduct of the elections.

    As per party sources, the DRO will be appointed in the first week of February. After that, ARO will be appointed. The election process will be completed before the Odia New Year. In this, the working committee members, state council members will also be elected at this time. Along with this, the party president will be elected, the BJD said.

    Work has been started after discussing with the assembly constituency leaders and district leaders to conduct the elections properly.
