(KRON) – Crews have responded to Martinez Refinery Company for the report of a blaze, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
At 1:40 p.m. Saturday, the fire department was called about flames at the refinery.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office has issued a public health advisory for parts of Pacheco, Martinez and Clyde.
Residents asked to avoid the area due to SF police activity“An incident at the Martinez Refining Company could affect individuals with respiratory sensitivities,” Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said. “Most people will not be affected. Eye, skin, nose, or throat irritation may be possible for some people in the affected area. If people experience any irritation, advise them to go inside and rinse any irritated area of their body with water."
