TWO game shows hosted by celebrities have been axed following ‘low ratings’ – as fans branded the decision ‘such a shame’.
Fox First Run has chosen not to renew some of its Monday-Friday programs.
Game shows Pictionary and Person, Place or Thing are both coming to an end.
These cancelations are reportedly due to low ratings, as well as unsustainable financial costs.
Pictionary premiered in syndication back in September 2022.
It is based on the popular word-guessing game, which debuted in 1985.
Hosted by actor Jerry O’Connell, over 400 episodes have aired to date.
Following a test run in December 2021, Pictionary received a full season order.
The cancelation news follows a UK version of Pictionary launching on ITV last year.
Person, Place or Thing debuted in September 2023 and has aired two seasons.
Baby Daddy actress Melissa Peterman took on hosting duties.
Three players compete for cash and prizes by correctly identifying people, places and things.
Similarly to Pictionary, the format was based upon a well-known game – in this case, 20 Questions.
Taking to Reddit, a fan wrote: “Such a shame…both of them were fun in their own way.”
Another added: “Bummer, I like Pictionary.”
A third person remarked: “Wow, Jerry O’Connell loses Pictionary and his gig on The Talk within months of each other.”
