Sisters Alyssa and Gisele Thompson have agreed to contract extensions with Angel City Football Club through the 2028 season, the team announced Wednesday.

For Alyssa, a 20-year-old forward, it is a three-year extension. For Gisele, a 19-year-old defender, it is a two-year extension.

The sisters, who each attended Harvard-Westlake High and bypassed Stanford to sign with Angel City, are headed into a second year of being pros together.

Alyssa, who was the youngest player to be selected in the NWSL draft and the first selected out of high school, has played in 55 games in two seasons with nine goals and nine assists. Angel City acquired the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft to select the local star, after which she became a Rookie of the Year finalist.

“I am super excited to be able to stay for four more years with Angel City,” Alyssa said in a statement. “I wanted to re-sign because I love LA so much and the community around me is amazing. Being able to play in my hometown in front of my friends and family is something that I never take for granted.

Gisele made her professional debut last season, playing in 16 league games.

“I’m so happy to have the opportunity to continue to grow with this team,” Gisele said. “Playing in front of my friends and family, and playing with Alyssa, has been so great and I look forward to continuing that here.”
