OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) -- The Alameda County Board of Supervisors selected Ursula Jones Dickson to be the county's new district attorney on Tuesday.
Dickson was voted to be the DA at a meeting on Tuesday night. She is currently a superior court judge in Alameda County.
Dickson beat out seven other candidates, including California Department of Justice Chief Deputy Attorney General Venus Johnson and Annie Esposito, who is a prosecutor with the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office.
Alameda County's previous DA Pamela Price was recalled in November over concerns with her soft-on-crime policies.
The group that spearheaded the recall endorsed Esposito and Dickson.
