Police are investigating a fatal shooting in a Pacific Beach apartment that was also the site of a SWAT standoff last October.
Police arrived at the residence at 1660 Chalcedony St. at about 10:10 p.m. Sunday after neighbors called 911 to report what sounded like gunshots.
The victim, an as-yet unidentified man in his fifties, was reportedly killed by a resident inside.
According to Onscene.Media, police believe that there had been more people in the apartment who left before law enforcement arrived. Those still inside initially told the officers that the dead man was a home invasion suspect.
The apartment had been the site of a disturbance in October 2024. At that time, drugs and drug paraphernalia was discovered inside the home.
