POKÉMON TCG Pocket’s long-awaited trading feature is just around the corner, and the game is already warning players not to engage in “inappropriate conduct”.
This morning, users who are logging into the TCG Pocket app are being greeted by a news post about the measures the developers plan to take against Terms of Use violations.
comes just hours before the launch of TCG Pocket’s trading features and reads:
“We are aware that some players have engaged in data tampering, real money trading, and other behaviors that violate the Terms of Use.”
The developers warn that players who are confirmed of wrongdoing, will receive a warning, have their account suspended, or face “other action” taken against them.
The message mentions “real money trading” specifically and is clearly aimed at users who plan on exploiting the upcoming trading feature to make real cash.
It’s not the first time the game warns its players about potential bans for inappropriate behaviour.
Previously, TCG Pocket warned players to change their user names or face account suspension or “other action”.
The target of that wave of bans was user names that contained rude words, which were causing “discomfort” to other players.
Recently, Pokémon TCG Pocket explained how the much-requested feature is going to work, and last Thursday we got its launch date confirmed for January 28.
The launch date announcement came together with the reveal of two new Dialga and Palkia booster packs that are dropping into the game on Wednesday.
Players will be limited to trading cards of the same rarity, and only cards of one-, two-, three-, and four-diamond, and one-star rarities will be tradeable.
This means that each trade will have to be like-for-like, and the rarest cards, of two- and three-star and crown rarities, won’t be available for trading at all.
Trades can only be done between two users who are already friends on the app, and only in-game resources will be consumed to complete a trade.
Real money trading is explicitly prohibited in Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Terms of Use.
Soliciting, assisting or mediating such trades are also among the banned actions.
Every user who is playing the game has agreed to the Terms of Use, and the developers have reserved their right to take actions at their discretion when they discover violations.
