The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System’s first overnight express bus route is set to begin service Sunday.
Riders traveling to and from San Ysidro, San Diego’s South Bay communities and downtown San Diego will soon have access to transit 24/7 via Route 910.
The new route will run from the U.S.-Mexico border to downtown San Diego from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. when the UC San Diego Blue Line Trolley cannot operate.
Route 910 buses will run every 30 minutes and will stop in San Ysidro, south San Diego, Chula Vista, National City, Barrio Logan, and downtown San Diego.
Overnight riders with safety concerns are advised by MTS to save the security dispatch phone number at (619) 595-4960 to text or call for assistance.
Security teams will patrol all Route 910 stops during service hours, according to MTS, and security staff are assigned at the 12th & Imperial Transit Center and the San Ysidro Transit Center during trolley operation hours, 4:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.
MTS is also expanding early morning service on Route 992 to the airport, with trips from downtown starting around 4:15 a.m.
Standard transit fare applies.
