CUSTOMERS are fuming after Netflix confirmed another price increase on Tuesday.
The streaming company said the cost bump comes as the platform grows and offers more perks.
“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value for our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can re-invest to further improve Netflix,” an earnings report noted.
Netflix’s lowest-costing ad-supported tier will increase by $1 from $6.99 to $7.99, according to Bloomberg.
For the ad-free tier, the increase is greater at $17.99 — up from $15.49.
Those customers who have the premium tier without ads will also go from paying $22.99 to a whopping $24.99.
The last price increase Netflix customers saw was fairly recent in October 2023.
It also is the first time the company has ever increased the ad-supported plan, which launched the year prior.
