Denver weather: Pinpoint Weather Alert Days continue with a bitter cold Monday

DENVER (KDVR) -- After some light morning snow, skies will partially clear in the afternoon, but highs stay in the single digits with negative wind chills Monday.

Weather today: Freezing with afternoon sun

Light morning snow will keep roads slick on Monday with partial clearing in the afternoon. Highs are cold in the upper single digits with a light breeze keeping wind chill values in the negatives.

    Weather tonight: Even colder

    On Monday night, Denver will see the coldest night of the season with lows in the negatives and a light wind. Skies are fairly clear with wind chills dipping into the negative teens and twenties.

    Cold weather advisories and extreme cold warnings are in effect through Monday and into Tuesday morning. Wind chill values can be as low as minus 30 degrees.

    Looking ahead: Warmer, possible weekend snow

    Sunshine will help to warm temperatures on Tuesday afternoon, reaching the low 40s and ending the Pinpoint Weather Alert Days.

    Wednesday adds some extra clouds with possibly a few inches of light snow in the high country, so highs are below average in the middle 30s.
