The Mendocino Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is hosting a recruiting event in Willits Monday, the agency announced.
In a press release, Cal Fire MEU reported that it was “thrilled to invite the residents of Mendocino County to explore the incredible career opportunities available with Cal Fire at our upcoming recruitment event,” (describing the day as “not just a chance to learn about various positions, but a unique opportunity to engage with your community.”
The event is scheduled for Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Jesse Pittman Training Center located at the Cal Fire Headquarters at 17501 N. Highway 101 in Willits.
The agency notes that it has many types of jobs available beyond firefighting, so “whether you are interested in becoming a firefighter, a forestry technician or even a cook, there are diverse pathways to serve and protect our natural resources while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.”
And by attending Monday’s event, participants will also “have the chance to set up your CAL Careers and FEMA accounts, as well as access IS courses to enhance your application and resume.”
