(KRON) -- An unplanned power outage on the San Francisco Peninsula is impacting approximately 36,000 customers Thursday morning, according to the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
As of 10:10 a.m., the PG&E outage map showed 17,291 San Mateo customers without power. There were 11,060 outages in Foster City and nearly 1,000 in Hillsborough.
The power outages started at 8:26 a.m. in San Mateo County, PG&E told KRON4. Crews are responding to the outage. Preliminary reports indicate that the outage may be connected to an equipment issue, the utility said.
Power is estimated to be restored early Thursday afternoon, according to PG&E. The utility company said that crews are working as safely and quickly as possible.
