Pastor Paul Burgess has been named a Hometown Hero before for his work in organization the Franklin All-Nighter Fun Run, but this time, we’re recognizing Burgess for his work with the homeless population. Burgess is the senior pastor at University Baptist Church on Franklin Street and through his work and support UBC now offers shelter to up to 20 people a night when the temperatures get below freezing. Burgess’ support didn’t stop there; he also turned it in a congregation-wide effort, with his congregation providing warm meals for the homeless population and donations to support them.
