NEVADA COUNTY – Law enforcement officers are still trying to find a suspect who bailed after a traffic stop near Nevada City late Wednesday night.
The Nevada County Sheriff's Office says a deputy tried to pull over a suspect after watching them run through two signs. The driver wouldn't yield, however, sparking a chase that went up Coyote Street to North Bloomfield.
There, deputies say the suspect parked at a home, then got out and ran.
Deputies set up a perimeter and have been searching the area -- but even with the help of sheriff K9 Odin, the suspect still has not been located.
Nevada City police and a helicopter from the Placer County Sheriff's Office have been helping in the search.
No description of the suspect has been released by authorities.
The sheriff's office noted that they don't believe the suspect poses a threat to the community.
