The Good Ship Murder is about to sail back on to our screens with a fresh cargo of mysterious deaths to be investigated.
Cruise ships have never been so deadly as the one on Channel 5 returning for a second series after a Christmas special in 2024.
Shayne Ward (Jack) and Catherine Tyldesley (Kate) are at the helm hoping to steer away from too much trouble.
Ward plays Jack Grayling, a former police detective turned cabaret singer, and Tyldesley takes on the role of ambitious First Officer Kate Woods.
Produced by Clapperboard in association with Fifth Season, this series promises more sun, sea, and sinister plots.
A third series of the show has also been commissioned.
Paul Testar, Channel 5’s commissioning editor for drama, said: “We are excited for these new tales on The Good Ship Murder.
“The blend of music, mystery, and beautiful locations was a winning formula that our viewers loved in series one, and we’re excited to be working with Clapperboard again to bring this series back”.

It is the first of eight hour-long episodes which will air each Friday in the 9pm slot.
Viewers will also be able to watch it on catch-up on My5.

Shayne Ward stars as former CID police detective Jack Grayling, who has reinvented himself as a cabaret singer aboard a cruise ship.
Ward, 40, rose to fame as a singer winning the talent show The X Factor in 2005.
He released several albums before pursuing a career in acting.
From 2015, he began appearing as Aidan Connor in Coronation Street, a role he maintained for three years.
Viewers will have seen him most recently competing in Strictly Come Dancing, where he was partnered with Nancy Xu.
Catherine Tyldesley

Tyldesley, 41, first became know to audiences as Iris Moss in the drama Lilies and then went on to take the role of Abi Peterson in Emmerdale.
She appeared in Coronation Street as Eva Price from 2011-2018 and recently played Kate Tuckman in Viewpoint.

And she has competed in a number of reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother, Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing on Ice.

The Good Ship Murder is filmed aboard a working cruise ship as it tours the Mediterranean.
Much of the filming has previously taken place when the vessel is stationed near the island of Malta.
“I didn’t realise how much gets filmed in Malta”, said Ward, “It was amazing, very hot.”
The MSC Virtuosa, operating out of Southampton, is used for all the location shots while still carrying fee-paying passengers.
Speaking about the filming of the first series, Ward said: “I think at one point, there were around 6,000 passengers on board.
“At the time, it was the UK school break, and then they got off and it was the Scottish school break, so it was quite a busy ship.”
Many of them have ended up as extras in the show.
