To start off the new year, Westfield UTC mall is bringing shoppers new flavors to experience at its two newest dessert venues, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream and Melo Melo.
On Tuesday, Melo Melo opened its doors to customers with a unique selection of coconut jellies, a dessert harvested from coconuts served with Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. Their coconut desserts range from a variety of tropical fruit flavors for guests to choose from including mango, red dragon, durian and golden kiwi.
Van Leeuwen Ice Cream will be making its debut in the shopping center on Jan. 17 with scoops of its dairy and vegan ice cream. Known for its innovative seasonal flavors, customers can explore new tastes alongside limited-edition collaborations with well-known celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter and NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler.
Two new clothing stores have also recently joined the list of tenants residing at UTC.
Rothy’s, a sustainable clothing brand that reuses single-use plastic bottles to create more long-lasting clothing, launched its third Southern California retail location at UTC on Nov. 27. Their washable shoes, bags and accessories come from over 715,300 pounds of marine plastic collected from the ocean, according to the company’s website.
With over 300 stores in North America, Garage opened its second location in San Diego at UTC on Dec. 5. Driven by the brand’s mission to empower young women to find their own sense of style, guests can browse through its wide selection of everyday basics and trendy clothes.
