The Chicago Bulls will continue to be without Ayo Dosunmu and Torrey Craig for Wednesday night’s game in Indianapolis, per the latest official injury report.
Dosunmu was up for his 10-day re-evaluation on Monday, which led the Bulls to announce that he would need to wait at least another week before ramping up. One of the team’s top two-way guards, Dosunmu will miss his seventh consecutive game this evening with a calf strain.
Torrey Craig also remains sidelined with his lower leg injury. While the veteran has only appeared in nine games this season, we did start to see head coach Billy Donovan lean on him a little more to end 2024. Craig clocked 11+ minutes in three straight games before sustaining the injury. For a Bulls team that lacks conventional size, Craig’s strong and versatile frame has been a nice change of pace at times depending on the matchup. The sooner he’s back, the more flexibility Donovan will feel like he has.
As for the Bulls’ opponent, they are working through a far more busy injury report. The team is already limited in the frontcourt with Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman out for the season. This is a big reason why they traded for backup Thomas Bryant earlier in the year. We could see a lot of him this evening, especially with starting center Myles Turner listed as questionable. Turner is one of the league’s more reliable shot blockers, so his absence could play a big role in evening the playing field at the rim. Indiana won the points in the paint battle 56-42 the last time these two teams faced off.
Indiana is also at risk of missing Tyrese Haliburton, who is questionable with an ankle injury. After a slow start to the season, Haliburton has turned things around and led the Pacers to a 9-3 stretch. He’s averaging 20.4 points and 9.6 assists on 40.2 percent shooting from downtown since mid-December. Haliburton has the kind of craftiness and open floor playmaking skills that can embarrass this Bulls defense. If he can’t go, this becomes a completely different game.
