FORT COLLINS — A Southern-themed breakfast eatery opened Monday in southeast Fort Collins, run by a team that already has significant restaurant experience along the Front Range.
Marc Rogers, his son Zach and their partner Brian Jones, whose Rogers Restaurant Group operates 16 Fuzzy’s Tacos locations in Colorado, opened Another Broken Egg Cafe at 2909 E. Harmony Road, next to an existing Fuzzy’s location and across the street from Front Range Village.
The trio also opened Newk’s Eatery in late 2023 at 1700 S. College Ave. and own Mash Lab Brewing at 4487 Highland Meadows Parkway in Windsor. They have a franchise agreement to add four more Another Broken Egg Cafe locations in Northern Colorado.
“Opening Another Broken Egg Cafe in Fort Collins feels like the perfect opportunity to bring something special to a community that’s been such a big part of our lives,” Marc Rogers, who has been a part of the restaurant industry for more than 35 years, said in a prepared statement. “As a family, we’ve always been deeply involved with our community, supporting local events and organizations that make a meaningful difference, and we’re excited to kick things off with a charitable giveback event for Realities for Children,” an organization that provides emergency and ongoing support to at-risk children in Northern Colorado.
“Beyond that,” he said, “we can’t wait to bring a Southern-inspired dining experience that offers something for everyone.”
The new Fort Collins location opened in a space formerly home to another breakfast-oriented restaurant, The Original Pancake House, which recently moved 15 blocks west to 1402 E. Harmony Road.
The chain was born in 1996 when Ron Green opened his first Broken Egg Cafe in a turn-of-the-century summer home in Old Mandeville, Louisiana, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. He opened his second location two years later in Destin, Florida, and it soon became known as Another Broken Egg Cafe.
Another Broken Egg Cafe of America Franchising LLC launched a new menu in 2017 and later that year was purchased by a New York City-based private-equity firm, The Beekman Group. It now operates more than 70 locations in 16 states.
“Opening our first location in Colorado is an exciting opportunity for us, and we’re thrilled to bring Another Broken Egg Cafe to a beautiful community like Fort Collins,” Paul Macaluso, CEO and president of Another Broken Egg Cafe, said in a prepared statement. “With its strong outdoor culture, active lifestyle and growing dining scene, it feels like the perfect place to welcome our Southern-inspired brunch experience. We’re excited to become part of the community, and with Marc, Zach and Brian’s strong ties to Fort Collins and their dedication to making a positive impact locally, we know Another Broken Egg Cafe will be a place where guests can enjoy genuine hospitality and celebrate the indulgence of the breakfast, brunch and lunch experience.”
Offerings at the Fort Collins location include shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, a lobster and brie omelet, a “country power bowl,” huevos rancheros, biscuit beignets, apple fritter french toast, and pancakes with lemon, blueberry and goat cheese. Lunch offerings are available, as well as a full bar serving bloody marys, cocktails, mocktails and mimosas.
The Fort Collins cafe will operate from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
