If you’re on the hunt for a new place to take out food from Little Italy there’s a new player in town.
A new café concept, Quick Bites, is set to open its doors in Little Italy, offering an alternative for those seeking fresh meals in the dining arena and with what it says “more affordable.”
The café will have a soft opening on Jan. 8, followed by its grand opening on Jan. 15.
Founded by Gloire Bora, Quick Bites addresses a gap in the neighborhood’s dining landscape by offering premium grab-and-go options in an known for its upscale, sit-down restaurants. The café’s menu will focus on handcrafted sandwiches and salads, prepared with freshly baked focaccia bread made onsite. Guests will also find regular coffee, fresh juices, and cold brew from local partner DropKick Cold Brew.
“I’m excited to bring Quick Bites to Little Italy,” Bora said. “This neighborhood has so much to offer, but I saw a real need for a place where people can grab something quick, fresh, and affordable. We want to make it easy for locals and visitors to enjoy high-quality food without breaking the bank.”
Bora, who moved to San Diego from Uganda nine years ago, brings a new perspective to the project. After working in the food industry at Pappalecco for five years and later transitioning to entrepreneurship with Go Postal, he decided to return to his passion for food. Recognizing how difficult it has become to find a decent, affordable meal in today’s dining landscape, Bora envisioned Quick Bites as a solution for the community. The café is a family-run endeavor, with Bora’s wife, mother, and sister-in-law playing integral roles in its operations.
The space is designed to accommodate the fast-paced lifestyles of local residents and visitors, with casual indoor seating and a limited number of outdoor tables. The focus is “on providing high-quality, grab-and-go meals that cater to those looking for efficiency and affordability without compromising on taste.”
Busy entrepreneurs can now visit Go Postal and easily grab their mail, get passport photos, and enjoy a quick, delicious meal from Quick Bites—all in one stop.
Quick Bites will be open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
