VICE President Kamala Harris has been slammed for fumbling the words to the Pledge of Allegiance on Capitol Hill.
The former Democratic presidential candidate was swearing in new senators when she blatantly misquoted the pledge.
“I pledge allegiance, to the United States,” Harris is heard saying before trailing off, omitting the phrase “to the flag.”
Vice President-elect JD Vance was spotted laughing as Harris fumbled over her words.
The video clip quickly made the rounds on social media.
Donald Trump Junior shared the video with three laughing emojis.
“Notice she doesn’t say ‘I’ pledge. She starts with ‘Pledge,'” someone wrote on X.
“Disgrace,” one person wrote on X.
“We dodged a bullet,” another wrote.
Harris was in Congress for the swearing-in of new senators as part of her duties as vice president.
Her duties include those performed as president of the Senate, such as breaking ties and presiding over impeachment trials not involving a sitting president.
