CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – An 18-year-old has been charged with murder in connection to a shooting that killed a 31-year-old man Sunday night in east Mecklenburg County.
The incident happened just after 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, in the 10300 block of Old Camden Road. As CMPD officers arrived in the area, they found Cameron Lackey who had been shot.
Lackey was pronounced deceased at the scene, they said.

On Monday, CMPD identified Michael William McAllister as the suspect in this case. He was taken to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office where he’s being held without bond.
McAllister had his first court appearance on Monday. His next scheduled court date is Jan. 17.
