Tempers flared as Miami threw away a halftime lead at the Camping World Stadium.

Senior Simeon Barrow Jr. and freshman Marquise Lightfoot began trading blows after allowing 21 points to Iowa State in the first quarter.

The Hurricanes defense was unable to cope with running back Carson Hansen, who scampered for two early touchdowns.

As Miami’s players returned to the sideline, both Barrow Jr. and Lightfoot exchanged words.

The pair then began shoving, before punches were thrown and teammates dashed in to split them up.

“Unfortunately, that’s the most fight I’ve seen from Miami defenders since September,” wrote one fan on X.

“Awful look. I’ll never understand how anyone wants to play there,” added a second.

    “Embarrassing program,” scolded a third.

“When someone eats the last brown sugar cinnamon,” joked a fourth.

The two teams combined for 625 yards – 358 for Miami, 267 for Iowa State – and 59 points by halftime

Cyclones quarterback Rocco Becht was handed the Game MVP award after a superb performance in the comeback win.

He finished with 270 passing yards and three touchdowns, sending Iowa State to 11-2 on the year.

The program entered the 2024 season having never won more than nine games in a single campaign.

“If you look at this team, it’s really who they’ve been all year,” Cyclones coach Matt Campbell said.
