CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting at a popular west Charlotte nightclub, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Around 11 p.m. on Saturday night, officers responded to Coyote Joe's on the 4600 block of Wilkinson Blvd about a situation involving a man outside with a firearm. Police say an officer "perceived an imminent deadly threat" and fired his weapon, hitting the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene, where his firearm was found.

Officials say the NCSBI is leading the investigation and an internal affairs investigation is also underway. As protocol, the officer who fired their weapon is placed on administrative leave.
