Shafaq News/Tel Aviv is preparing for a military campaign against Yemen's Ansarallah(Houthis), expecting challenges due to the potential presence of tunnels,Israeli media reported on Sunday.
Inclosed-door meetings, Israeli security officials acknowledged that “anyoperation in Yemen would take longer than expected, with intelligence gatheringcrucial for airstrikes in a location far from Israel, unlike other fronts,” reportssaid.
Israeli officials are discussing expanding the international coalition,which has an interest in “weakening” Houthi capabilities and targeting theirinfrastructure and leaders in the military campaign.
“Anycampaign not involving an international coalition will take a long time,” Israelisecurity sources told the Walla news site.
Meanwhile,the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation quoted military sources saying, “Theupcoming campaign aims to disrupt the Houthis' military and technologicalinfrastructure.”
Houthidrones and missiles are reportedly posing a "major challenge" toIsraeli air defense systems, with an Israeli official noting that the Houthisare “more technologically advanced than expected” and that “Iran plays a keyrole in supporting them.”
Notably, theconfrontation between Israel and the Houthis has escalated significantly, withIsrael directly launching military attacks in an unprecedented move to targetthe group's military and technological capabilities.
Earlier,Israeli airstrikes targeted key Houthi sites, including Sanaa Airport, HodeidahPort, and locations inside caves and hideouts allegedly used to conceal missilelaunch systems and weapon storage. However, the military spokesperson forAnsarallah Yahya Saree noted that the Israeli aggression in Sanaa and Hodeidahwas “against civilian facilities”, resulting in deaths, injuries, and materialdamage.
For theirpart, the Houthis recently claimed to have targeted Ben Gurion Airport with a"Palestine 2" hypersonic ballistic missile. In a second operation, thegroup reportedly hit a “vital target” in Yaffa with a drone. For the thirdoperation, the Houthi UAV force targeted the Santa Ursula ship in the ArabianSea, east of Socotra Island, with several drones.
Additionally,the Houthi movement claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile targeting NevatimAirbase in southern Israel.
The group affirmedthat the Yemeni armed forces possess the capabilities to “expand the targetbank" in Israel, to strike additional “vital” facilities.
“[Houthis]Operations will not stop until the aggression on Gaza stops and the siege islifted.”
