After weeks of trade rumors and anticipation, the Chicago Bulls have finally made a roster move!

All things considered, Steward has posted impressive numbers with the Windy City Bulls this season. The 23-year-old guard averaged roughly 20.0 points per game with 7.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds. While his 42.7 percent clip from the field left something to be desired, he was shooting a G League career-high 39.8 percent from downtown on 6.4 attempts per game. With that being the case, I wouldn’t be shocked if another franchise extended him a two-way contract soon. Does that mean I think the Bulls have made the wrong decision? Not really, especially when we consider this front office already has so many young guards to evaluate. While we’re on the topic of two-way contract players, EJ Liddell had his best performance yet as part of the Windy City Bulls. The third-year forward recorded 29 points with 3 blocks in the team’s 116-97 loss to the Delaware Blue Coats. If the Bulls do begin to sell off pieces as the trade deadline nears, I think the former Ohio State standout should be in line for some more NBA run. Despite missing Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard in their last meeting on Dec. 21, the Bucks handed the Bulls a 112-91 loss. Not a single player on the Bulls finished the game with 20+ points, and they shot a season-worst 10-48 from downtown. Milwaukee outscored Chicago by 24 points behind the arc. The good news is that I highly doubt the Bulls shoot this poorly again. The bad news is that the Bulls still feel more than capable of losing to whichever Bucks team they get, especially after giving up 50 points in the fourth quarter to the Hawks! For what it’s worth, Antetokounmpo is at risk of missing his second-straight game against Chicago with an illness. He’s completely dominated the Bulls in his two appearances this season, combining for 79 points on 68.0 percent shooting. Chicago continues to give up the most points in the paint per game (56.5), allowing nearly three more points a night than the second-worst team (New Orleans, 53.6). The Bulls are just as banged up as they were heading into their matchup with Atlanta. Josh Giddey, Lonzo Ball, and Matas Buzelis are all listed as questionable, while Ayo Dosunmu is doubtful. Could this mean another heavy dose of minutes for Jevon Carter? As for Damian Lillard, Chris Haynes is reporting that the guard will make his return from a four-game absence later tonight. Lillard has averaged 25.7 points and 7.5 assists in his 22 games this season on 37.1 percent shooting from long range.

Milwaukee has the talent to dominate them in the paint and have the third-highest three-point percentage in the NBA. No matter how hard this Bulls team tries, I just don’t see a world where they are going to be able to get stops. Instead, this will likely be about capitalizing on every possession and shooting a higher percentage from the field.

They had a clear standard that wasn’t being reached, so they acted. Meanwhile, the Bulls have accepted mediocre results year in and year out.
