‘Moving for Better Balance’: Registration open for Banner NCMC’s class to enhance stability, mobility

Banner North Colorado Medical Center will offer two sessions for community members to learn eight fall prevention moves.

“Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance” will take place between 2-3 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting Jan. 6 through March 26 or April 7 through June 25 at the hospital’s wellness classroom near entrance No. 6 at 1801 16th St., Greeley.

The beginner-level class enhances stability and mobility through evidence-based fall prevention forms, or moves, with “built-in exercise variations and mini therapeutic movements,” according to a Banner Health flyer. Moving for Better Balance offers a relaxed environment to improve mental and physical well-being, staying active with moves “easy” on the bones and joints.

All eight moves are typically performed standing but seated and chair-assisted modifications are provided for each, the flyer said.

Delaney Leal, a health and wellness coordinator, will lead the sessions. The class has a 12-week session option for $60 or a 24-week session for $120.

    To register, call 970-810-6633.
