CLOVER, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A York County church was damaged by a fire Monday afternoon.
Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, on Ridge Road east of Clover, confirmed that a fire occurred Monday, Dec. 23. Pastor Chandler Sanders reported on social media that no one was injured, but there was significant damage to the building.
Queen City News observed damage near the roof and attic area.
“We just thank God that it could have been worse, but it was not worse,” Sanders said. “Those in the building were safe. Continue to lift us up in prayer. We know that God is still in control.”
The church says its worship service Sunday will take place at 11 a.m., but there will be no Sunday school.
