Mizzou has been a strong force in the transfer portal during Eli Drinkwitz’s tenure, and that trend continued when the Tigers landed the services of Stanford transfer punter Connor Weselman on Sunday.
The graduate transfer redshirted in 2021 and did not appear in a game during the 2022 campaign.
In 2023, Weselman worked primarily as a holder but also punted in eight games, registering seven 50+ yard boots and averaging 42.2 yards per punt. The Atlanta native was also a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic Roll recipient in 2022 and 2023.
Notably, Weselman stated in his post announcing his entrance into the portal that he wanted to go somewhere where he could win.

Weselman’s commitment gives Mizzou a scholarship punter following the graduation of Luke Bauer. Thus, he figures to compete for the starting role and potentially take over holding duties for the Tigers as well.
Weselman becomes the 11th transfer to join Missouri’s 2025 class and is the first specialist of the group.
With both lines beginning to be shored up, the perceived missing piece in the Tigers’ 2025 transfer portal class is the quarterback position. Current rumors suggest that Cal transfer QB Fernando Mendoza is Drinkwitz & Co.’s top target.
