With the winter holidays now just days away, many celebrities are gearing up for festive gatherings and activities with friends and family. However, not everyone feels the same love for the holiday season, as Jamie Lee Curtis revealed during a recent appearance on The View.
When the Academy Award-winning actress stopped by the popular ABC talk show on Friday, Dec. 20, she started off by embracing a beloved holiday tradition when she handed out a few gifts to The View co-hosts Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin. As Curtis explained, the gifts were from her charity, My Hand in Yours, which supports Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “Tis the season,” Curtis reminded them while taking her guest seat on the show’s set.

As she sat down at the table to chat, Curtis informed the TV personalities that she is, essentially, the "slightly slutty sister" of fictional character Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol.
“Slightly?” Behar joked, prompting a laugh from Curtis.
“Hey now! I’m an old married lady, as you know,” Curtis, 66, told Behar. "But I am a little Scrooge-y. Obviously I’m here in New York City, the tree—it’s beautiful. You know, I get the feeling of it. It’s just, there’s so much obligation.”
The Freaky Friday actress then explained why she has trouble getting into the holiday spirit.
“I feel like I feel about the beauty industry, which I think is called the beauty industrial complex, and the same way I feel about the cosmeceutical industry, which is the cosmeceutical industrial complex,” the Halloween star said. "I also feel that way about the holiday industrial complex, where it makes you feel as if, if you don’t do more, somehow you’re not good enough.”
All that added baggage has impacted the way Curtis views the holiday season as a whole. “I gotta tell you—I’m just over it,” she declared.
